Since 2025, Hope For New Generation (HFNG) has expanded its mission to address one of Sierra Leone’s most pressing social challenges, the growing Kush drug crisis. As the use of Kush continues to affect countless young people, families, and communities, HFNG has remained committed to offering hope, support, and pathways to recovery for those most impacted.
Leading this initiative is Gloria, who works directly with young people through community outreach and peer support programs. By engaging with youth in their own communities, she helps connect individuals struggling with addiction to essential services, guidance, and support networks that can aid their recovery journey.
At HFNG, we believe that recovery extends beyond treatment. True healing begins when young people feel valued, understood, and connected to a supportive community. Our approach is grounded in the belief that recreation, meaningful relationships, and positive social engagement are powerful tools for restoring confidence, purpose, and resilience.
Rather than allowing addiction to define a young person’s future, HFNG focuses on creating opportunities for growth, inclusion, and personal transformation. Through mentorship, community activities, and service navigation, we strive to replace stigma with compassion and isolation with belonging.
The Kush crisis has highlighted the urgent need for community-driven solutions that prioritize prevention, early intervention, and long-term support. HFNG is committed to standing alongside vulnerable youth, helping them overcome the challenges of addiction while empowering them to rebuild their lives with dignity and hope.
As we continue this important work, our mission remains clear: to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to recover, thrive, and contribute positively to their community. Together, we can replace despair with hope and create a future where every youth is given the chance to succeed.
